What’s Happening: Turner Monumental AME Church is proposing a 53-unit permanent supportive housing development at Hallman & Howard Streets. It would provide safe, stable homes for seniors 55+ living on very low incomes (30% of Area Median Income) - helping longtime neighbors age in place as housing costs rise. Decaturish reports that at a recent Kirkwood Neighbors Organization meeting, neighbors were divided. Local support is critical as the project moves forward.
